The New Tramex Concrete Encounter CME 5 has been designed specifically for the flooring industry. Quickly and accurately measure the moisture in concrete floors and floor screeds without the need to drill or damage the surface. Screeds and concrete floors must be dry before the floor covering is installed.
Regular checking of moisture content during the drying out period of a new concrete floor or floor screed is important to ensure it has reached sufficient dryness to accept the floor covering.
Excess moisture in the concrete could cause latent problems such as condensation or failure of the adhesive under the floor covering.
The Concrete Moisture Encounter 5 will give you an instant reading of moisture content up to 6% concrete; up to 0 - 10 comparative on gypsum screed enabling you to make an informed decision on when to install the floor covering.
To use, simply switch on and hold the instrument firmly against the surface. As many non-destructive tests as you need can be carried out in seconds without the need to drill or damage the concrete
Tramex Concrete Encounter CME4 Features:
Non-destructive in operation with no need to probe, drill or mechanically damage the surface
Clear easy-to-read analogue dial.

Tramex Concrete Encounter CME 5 is a handheld electronic moisture meter operating on the principle of non-destructive impedance measurement. Parallel co-planer electrodes are mounted on the base which, during operation, transmit low-frequency signals into the concrete floor screed to a deth of approx. 12.5 mm (0.5in.)
While concrete under normal conditions can never be completely dry, the instrument has been calibrated on acceptably dry material. In operation it compares the change in impedance caused by the presence of dampness and displays this on a clear, easy to read analog dial.
To carry out moisture tests simply brush any dust from a smooth area of concrete and also from electrodes, switch on the concrete Encounter CME 4 firmly onto the surface, fully compressing the spring loaded signal enhacing contacts on the base of the CME 5. Read the moisture content from the clear analog dial.
The CME 5 is calibrated to give percentage moisture content readings on a clean, bare dust free concrete floor slab, thus readings taken on concrete slabs through paint, coating, adhesives or other materials on the surface of the slab should be regarded as qualitative or comparative and no quantitative.
