The Flir E40 is a small and lightweigh infrared thermal imaging camera designed for those who require the ability to document their findings easily.

The Flir E40 also includes a best in class 3.1 megapixel digital camera allowing visible images to be recorded in addition to the IR image.

The Flir E40 also features Pip (picture in picture) function which allows the IR image to be superimposed onto the visible image for added detail in your reports. However the E40 the image is not scalable as featured on the Flir E50 & Flir E60.

Another added feature of this camera  powerful LED light which allows you to take visible images in dark environments.

The Flir E40 also features Meterlink allowing the transfer of data taken with the Extech EX845 clamp meter recording electrical meter readings direct to the image on the camera thus saving you the time of recording the measurements manually and the possible errors that can arise in matching them back to the image when compiling your report. 

Furthermore text comments can be added via the touch screen display and voice annotations of up to 60 seconds can be added to each image saving the need to make time consuming notes by hand.

Flir is the first to introduce WiFi connectivity to mobile devices such as the iPhone, iPad & iPod Touch. By simply downloading the Free FlirViewer app via the Apple App Store you are able to import and post process images taken on your camera. This simple to use App does away for the need for any cables or card readers previously required to copy the images from the camera and allows you to add further spot & area temperatures and create professional reports which can be emailed directly from the device. MeterLink™: MeterLink is a new Bluetooth technology that lets FLIR infrared cameras "talk to" EXTECH meters wirelessly. Manual data collection is time-consuiming and prone to errors. MeterLink™ eliminates this problem by allowing the thermographer to quickly take moisture readings on a damaged surface and associate those readings with the corresponding targets stored in an infrared image.Readings from the meters get recorded right on the camera's images.
